Agnes Jorgensen is a Canadian artist. She has been painting for 35 years and trained with the Academy of Realist Art. A great admirer of the Old Masters, her chosen medium is oil and her approach, narrative.
She is a national and international award winning artist and has participated in several solo and group exhibitions, in galleries and Museums. Her artwork is part of public and private collections throughout Canada, the United States and Europe.
Agnes was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and lives in Sainte-Anne-des-Lacs, Quebec.
Her success began early when she won Best in Oils and Honourable Mention for her first International Juried Art Show. She won the hearts of Manitobans with her Ducks Unlimited Print and the People’s Choice Award for her bejewelled Bear, Bling Bling, a Cancer Care project.
She was awarded a commission from the Manitoba Metis Federation, to paint a portrait of Prime Minister Paul Martin which was presented in the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa, Ontario.
The artist has been featured in many publications including the Winnipeg Free Press, Best of Worldwide Oil Artists Volumn2, Ducks Unlimited Publications and Bears on Broadway- A Love Affair in Concrete.
Other honours from distinguished art institutions include Art Kudos International and Humanity Art Award from the Academie Internationale des Beaux-Arts du Quebec.
She has participated in numerous exhibitions, including the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, New York, Rockefeller Center, New York, Toronto Art Expo, Leonardo da Vinci Center, Montreal, Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and shows throughout Manitoba and Quebec.
In 2013, her collection titled ´ Journey into Creativity ´ was featured in the Regional Museum of Vaudreuil-Soulanges, Quebec.
Together with her spouse, they have founded Painting A New World, a non-profit organization. Through the sales of their artwork, they continue to create positive change in the communities of Africa and Haiti.
